"Nawaz Sharif's love for Pakistan and Islam has never been a secret for all and he needs not take certificate from anyone to prove himself a patriotic," Marriyum Aurangzeb said, adding that the critics have once again launched a "negative propaganda" against the three-time elected prime minister. She said the campaign against the party leadership has once again been launched, adding earlier such campaign was started before the general elections of 2018. She explained that Nawaz Sharif's statement was presented out of context by the newspaper.
"The role played by Nawaz Sharif in making Pakistan a nuclear and economic power will be written with golden words in the country's history," she maintained, adding that Nawaz Sharif made the country's defence invincible. "The people of Pakistan have always rejected such a propaganda campaign against Nawaz Sharif due to their love for him," she further claimed. In ICJ hearing during the Jadhav's case, Indian lawyer Harish Salve referred to an interview given by Nawaz Sharif to local English daily in which he allegedly acknowledged Pakistan's role in 2008 Mumbai attacks.
